Safe Driving Simulator

21.07.2008 The citizens of Olsztyn had an unique occasion to check how dangerous is driving after alcohol drinking. On July 20th a very modern safe driving simulator was presented in the Olsztyn Old Town. The simulator was made in Belgium and is based on Toyota Corolla Verso. It will be shown also in Ełk. The campaign was organised by Safe Driver Foundation.

„I think soberly, I drive soberly” action - the results of the scientific research

23.06.2008 As the „I think soberly, I drive soberly” action is finished, the results of the scientific research can be presented. The action was organised by „Safe Driver” Foundation, Warminsko-Mazurski University, the Marschall Office and School-Board in Olsztyn.

„Stop and live!” campaign inaugration

17.06.2008 Safe Driver Foundation became an official partner of the 4th all-Poland campaign  concerning safe grade crossings. The campaign is organised by Polish Railway Lines. During the conference the main ideas of the previous campaings and this year’s program were presented.

Safe Driver Foundation participated in the 12th Scientific Picnic

16.06.2008 12th Scientific Picnic, organised by Polish Radio and Kopernik Science Center  took place on June 14. As a participant, Safe Driver Foundation showed the consequences of participating in car accidents without seat belts fasten, and of driving after alcohol drinking.

The prestigious ”Polish Roads ‘XXI” Award

15.05.2008 For the eight time „Polish Roads” magazine editorial, Roads and Bridges Research Institute and All-Poland Road Economic Chamber gave the prestigious awards for the particular labour in polish roads infrastructure improving. One of the laureates was Krzysztof Hołowczyc, who was awarded for setting up „Safe Driver” Foundation and directing its promoting and educating activity in the area of traffic safety.

II All-Polish Prayer for the Drivers Day

17.04.2008 On April 16, in Polish Episcopate a pre – „All-Polish Prayer for the Drivers Day” conference took place. The title of the conference was „Young people die on the roads”. During the meeting new methods of traffic education, emphasising the education of kids and youth, were presented. „Safe Driver” Foundation was represented by her president, Andrzej Kalitowicz.

The international project ”TEN D by Night” is starting

14.04.2008 On 10th April in Turin the first working meeting started within the framework of the international project ”TEN D by Night”. This interesting project for the benefit of the road traffic safety, in Poland will be put into practice by Krzysztof Hołowczyc’s Foundation ‘Safe Driver’. The aim of the campaign is to reduce the number of ”disco accidents” connected with young people driving back from discotheques under the influence of alcohol and psychoactive substances.

„ORLEN. Safe roads” program again in RBF report

02.03.2008 „ORLEN. Safe roads” program, organised by „Safe Driver” Foundation and PKN ORLEN company, has been announced the bigggest social action for the traffic safety in Poland in 2007. The report „The responsible business in Poland in 2007. Good actions” was published by Responsible Business Forum.

Safety Gala – Initiatives Competition awards presentation

28.02.2008 The second edition of „ORLEN. Safe roads” program has been finished. February 27, during the Safety Gala, which took place in Royal Castle in Warsaw, the results were summed up and the awards were presented. Among all the organisators of traffic safety action, the Best 16 were awarded with Golden Safety Shields and financial awards, with total value 525.000 zlotych. Ari Vatanen, Europarliament Member and famous rally driver, was the special guest of the Gala.

20.02.2008 Ari Vatanen, rally Word champion and multiple legendary Dakar Rally Winner, is going to arrive to Poland, to honour the occcasion of Safety Gala. The Gala will sum up the second editio of „ORLEN. Safe roads” program and is going to take place February 27, in Royal Castle in Warsaw.
